The Hooey Bird
I've finished it! I'm pleased to present the one and only:
HOOEY BIRD
To recap the story of it's creation, I had a gourd sitting on the workbench. I picked it up a noticed it had a belly button! As I stared at it, I saw the face and knew it wanted to be a bird.
That's the way it works!
The Hooey Bird is painted and sponged with Dr. Ph Martin's watercolors in Payne Grey. I love the shade of green it creates as the paint reacts to the gourd's natural color. The beak is made from a piece of gourd and glued in place. The feet are made from polymer clay! I Googled "bird feet" and discovered a site that taught you how to make a polymer bird. perfect, simple, easy and just the inspiration I needed for the Hooey Bird's feet!
