I’m sooo excited! I was featured in the Art Dolls Only blog yesterday!
I finished up a set of Mr. and Mrs. Gourdy Clauses for Kerry White, author of “Much Ado About Russian“, book one of the “Fair Hero Series”. If you like vampire stories and other supernatural kind of stuff, it’s a good read.
I was having issues with the faux fur and decided to try for a floofier look. I used marabou feathers instead. They came out pretty darn cute!
I also worked on the wolf pup. This guy is a challenge because I’m going to use three colors of flocking material versus two. Flocking fibers are very fine and when you mix them they blend together. To make things even more interesting I’m going to use different adhesives, black and clear water based. The black will change the white flock to a gray tone and the clear will ensure the white areas stay white. I chose to roughly paint the areas their respective colors as a guide. I was confusing myself with too many pencil marks. It doesn’t look pretty now but if this works like I think it will… oooh baby!
I have a reindeer who is prepped for his tail implant. My scroll saw is still waiting for a new blade. I’m not in the mood to muck about with saw blades so I’m going to borrow the Hubs’ saw. I glanced over into the deep dark recesses of the Man Cave and was shocked (SHOCKED I tell you) to see this sight:
This is NOT normal! Did they plan this to mess with my head? Has my world turned upside down? You see, Dude dog and Cookie Cat have the typical cat and dog relationship. Dude has never forgotten or forgiven the time(s) Cookie chased him around the house while the pet humans laughed. It’s quite a sight to see a 16 pound cat chase an 80 pound dog. Since the first chase, Dude has made it his personal mission to break up any cat fights involving Cookie. He will also chase Cookie up a tree or around the yard if he catches wind of him. Dude enjoys trying to corner Cookie and snap at him whenever the opportunity presents itself. Oftentimes he is reprimanded by the Alpha Dog (that would be moi) whenever he tries that. Please understand, Cookie isn’t Mr. Innocent and fuzzy wuzzy either. There are many times Cookie will purposely sit in the dining room or kitchen chairs waiting to ambush Dude. He knows that Dude will turn around to investigate. One would think Dude would catch on by now. Hey,he’s a dog and well… you know how big dogs can be. Cookie enjoys the “try-and-reach-me-cause-you-can’t” game and nab Dude with his uber sharp claws. In turn, Cookie must deal with the top cat (yes, that would be moi) and gets dumped out of the chair. Now that I think about it, Cookie was on the cushion first. I bet he stayed there and gave Dude a look that said, “Just try and make me move off your cushion. I double dog dare you.”
Ah, how I miss the days with our dogs Candy and Joey. You could hold a kitty in your lap and tell the dogs to “Eat the Kitty! Eat the Kitty!” They would lick and slobber ‘em much to the annoyance of the kitty. It was a great way to dish out cat hooey. *Sigh* I can’t play that game any more because Dude would indeed try to eat the kitty. Ella just looks at me as if to say, “You want me to what!? Eeewwww.” Yeah, that’s coming from the dog that thoroughly enjoys poop snacks.
On that note, I really must get my creative rear in gear.
Have a Wonder-Filled day and enjoy YOUR creativity!
